AKZ At A Glance
There’s something powerful about a place like the East End of Henderson; a place that comes with so many stories it connects people across generations. These are stories of hard work, loyalty, and a spirit of determination that comes from every corner of the neighborhood. While pride still exists in the East End today, what hasn’t always kept pace are the connections, the access, and the investment that’s needed for a community to continue to grow.

In 2015, a group of community members came together, determined to find a solution. They knocked on doors. They asked questions. They listened. They learned that families needed stronger connections, real support, and a neighborhood that felt united. From that vision, Audubon Kids Zone (AKZ) was born.

Today, through early learning, afterschool and summer programs, teen support, family advocacy, adult education, and our Love Your Neighbor Initiative, we work to help build consistent pathways for growth, not just for kids, but for entire families. Because when both kids and their families are supported, neighborhoods grow stronger.
